It's time again for the OhmyNews International citizen journalism awards. In April we kept an eye out for the top read articles which created the most buzz among our readers.
We're happy to announce this month's winners; we have a top-read review of a controversial documentary, a look at the phenomenon of amateur singer Susan Boyle and an interview with a London-based business "guru." We sincerely hope you enjoyed these great pieces of citizen reporting.

FROM THE SECTION |

|
| In first place is long-time OMNI entertainment writer Howard Schumann, who is based in Vancouver, Canada. He reviewed the DVD documentary "2012: Science or Superstition," which "explores the meaning of the Mayan calendar's end date and what it might mean for the world."
"'2012: Science or Superstition' thankfully does not include professional debunkers, scientific or otherwise, and the word "nonsense" is not even heard once during the film, yet, while I am supportive of the ideas discussed, a bit more controversy would have livened up the proceedings including discussion of biblical prophecy, crop circles, UFOs, and the exponential growth in spirituality worldwide pointing to a paradigm shift," he says in the piece.
Mr. Schumann, who has written for OhmyNews since June 2007, will receive 300,000 Korean won.
Second prize was won by OhmyNews newcomer J.N. Paquet, for his piece on "Britain's Got Talent" contestant Susan Boyle, who took the world by storm on the Internet with her amazing voice (over 10 million YouTube views and counting). Mr. Paquet examined her past and her rise to "unlikely" stardom. Please check out his 100,000 Korean won winning article.
And the third prize of 100,000 Korean won goes to OMNI's UK-based featured writer Asad Yawar, for his detailed interview with Nadeem Azam, CEO of digital marketing agency Azam Marketing, in "London's Digital Business Guru." Mr. Yawar has been writing for OhmyNews since February 2006.
Congratulations to all our winners. Stay tuned for our May results and if you have a story you think would be of interest to OhmyNews readers, please get writing!
